The Streaming Year for Secondary students. Sec 2 Mathematics is algebra specific and carries on from Sec 1 curriculum. It builds on previous expansion, factorisation and equation skills to advanced levels that is needed for a successful foray into Additional Mathematics for Secondary 3.
The level of difficulty is obviously higher due to the Streaming year into their upper secondary classes. Ability to option Additional Mathematics as a new O-level topic. Examinations and working at a high level throughout Sec 3 and 4 will filter students into their mathematical abilities during this streaming year.
