Mathematics Tuition classes for Primary and Secondary classes today as we focus on examination questions and problem sums. Here’s what happened in class today.
SECONDARY GCE O Level Class
eduKate Secondary Mathematics Tuition Classes at Punggol Singapore for GCE O level examination preparation.
Our Secondary class are specific for O level students in preparation for the GCE O level finals. They have come a long way since the beginning of the year and are currently working on past year exam papers. Spending time remembering the techniques and working on only the hardest sums when our tutor Mr Wong is around means that they get guidance and a fallback when they hit a tough question and cannot resolve it.
For Additional Mathematics, it is important to cover all the topics since Secondary 3, which is quite a lot of details to remember and complete before the GCE O levels comes along. Secondary 4 students in this class have spent most of this year learning, but as of June, they will complete their syllabus with us and start on their Mathematics revision, making sure they keep everything fresh in their memory. Along with that schedule, they will have to embark on attempting past year papers, both GCE O level Ten Year Series, as well as past year local school preliminary papers.
This represents the bulk of the work that requires students to spend hours preparing before they go for their GCE O level examinations, but an essential part to make sure they fully prepare themselves to get A1 for their examinations. We practice on coverage, technical details, memorisation, accuracy in calculation and speed. During these lessons, we make sure the students do not make any silly mistakes, identify it and make them remember where the common mistakes and pitfalls are.
So today’s lessons, the students did most of the trigonometry questions, including bearings, 3D figures for E Maths, and for Additional Mathematics, Quadratic Equations and Range of Values of a graph. Including drawing of curves and transformation.
Primary 4 Mathematics
For the Primary Mathematics, this is a Primary 4 class and is working on problem sums for Age, which involves questions regarding the differences on two persons ages and how to find out the age of an individual. It is relatively new concepts for these Primary 4 students doing Mathematics, but once they understand the mechanics, they will be able to start solving sums and evolutions of these sums, especially good foundation for their future work for Primary 5 and PSLE Mathematics that will need this solid foundation.

Our tutors preparing for classes
Tutor Yuet Ling in the office preparing for classes and printouts. That amount of paper is just for tomorrow’s Primary Tuition Classes, and it is partly class work and homework as the end of year primary school examinations are around the corner.
As the students are nearing the End-of-Year Primary Examinations, we prepare them and make sure they clear a few papers before attempting their own school examinations. Other than the usual classes where our tutors teach students the whole syllabus and also real world applications of what they learn, (we usually teach them out of the box thinking) we have to give them some experience on tacking examinations and advice primary students on where they can improve.
This is where tutor Yuet Ling prepares classes and makes sure our students comes to a prepared class and things gets done without wasting any time. We also make sure our students feels confident attempting their own examinations and have them performing at their best.
NURTURING YOUR CHILD TO BE FORWARD-THINKING INDIVIDUALS OF THE 21ST CENTURY ARE THE AIM OF OUR CLASSES.
And we are definitely very different to other tuition centres in Singapore, in an absolutely brilliant way, so do come along and see what we mean. It might change you and your child’s perception in learning and education.

We will be hosting our annual series of PSLE English Intensive Holidays June 2016 courses conducted at Tampines. This course is hosted by our Tampines resident tutor and English Specialist, Ms Kajol Singh and will benefit PSLE students that have a good fundamental in the English language but is looking for the edge to ace their examinations.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN OUR COURSES.
We teach students the way to aggressively acquire the maximum marks allocated for their English examination papers by teaching them the marking scheme set up by SEAB for PSLE Primary School examinations.
Breaking down the English examination papers for our students into clearly defined requirements and their entailed approach to answer the questions properly helps students to understand how the Ministry of Education awards marks for each section of the Primary English paper.
We do not just teach students to attempt exam questions, we teach them what are the requirements, skill sets needed, and keywords that will instantly award marks.
This course aims students to focus on specifics and gain marks efficiently.
This course aims students to understand how they should align their answers to the requirements of the syllabus for maximum scores.
This course aims students to study intensively to catch up and ace their English examinations.
The PSLE English Intensive revision courses focus on the following:
Paper 1: Continuous Writing
Paper 2: Comprehension Open Ended
Kindly contact Ms Teo Yuet Ling +65 8222 6327 for course details and seat availability.

Free English PSLE and Primary Lesson from eduKate Tuition Centre Singapore. Online Lessons and Tips. Here’s some Right or Wrong English usage in our English Tuition classes. Grammar usage and correcting your child in Primary school in Singapore before it turns into a habit and making sure they have an excellent English education.
During our English tuition classes, we hear these English sentences used frequently both in conversation and writing. So let’s correct some of the common ones and here’s an English grammar mistake that stands out.
“Me and my friend” or “I and my friend”?
So which is the right sentence? “Me and my friend wants to go to Mee Toh Primary School” or “I and my friend wants to go to Mee Toh Primary School?”
Well, the latter.
Reason: “I” is the subject of the sentence. Your friend becomes the accompanying person and the subject is “going to Mee Toh Primary School”. The first sentence makes “Me” the subject, and it is wrong to call yourself “Me” as the subject, making the sentence grammatically wrong. However, we can use “Me” as the object. i.e. “Mee Toh Primary School has accepted me and my friend”
So what about “My friend and I” versus “I and my friend”?
Both are grammatically correct, but whenever someone corrects you and say the former is correct, then it is contestable. It is, however, polite to use “My friend and I” so even though both are correct, choose “My friend and I” because we all want to sound clever and polite don’t we?
Conclusion:
when you are the subject: use “I”
when you are the object: use “me”
be polite and put yourself last if using “My friend and I”
